WWE Over The Limit PPV Preview

Tonight the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan, hosts another great event – and here is your WWE Over The Limit PPV preview. It is sure to be an amazing event, with some brilliant matches on the card and the possibility of a number of shocks and surprises in store.

WWE Over The Limit itself doesn't have a gimmick like Royal Rumble or Elimination Chamber – it's just a night of big matches and retribution. Let's get straight into the preview of WWE Over The Limit – match by match!

R-Truth vs. Ted DiBiase

Truth didn't take kindly to DiBiase's offer of employment, especially the implication that he would only be good enough to carry his bags – and thus, a match was made. DiBiase was flanked by WWE legend Virgil during the week, so watch for him to have a hand in this one...perhaps helping Truth punish the trust-fund baby.

Winner: R-Truth (with assist from Virgil)

Divas Champion Eve vs. Maryse

I always skip through the diva matches, as I find them neither interesting nor sexy...but I do like it when Maryse cuts promos on the American fans, so let's say she's going to win.

Winner: Maryse

Unified Tag Team Champions The Hart Dynasty vs. Chris Jericho & The Miz

The Miz dropped his US Championship to Bret Hart in front of a red-hot Toronto crowd last week on Raw, and you should fully expect his 'family' to return the favour to the newly created team of Jericho and WWE's mouthiest star. Y2J and The Miz have the potential to grow into an extremely successful team (or stable, with Jericho's NXT apprentice and others?) - so they shouldn't lay down for the Canadian jobsquad at this point.

Winners (and new champs): Chris Jericho & The Miz

Randy Orton vs. Edge

Strange to see these two outside of a championship match, but there is plenty of feud to settle here. Although this match doesn't have much of a feeling of 'closure' about it, it is hard to see Edge being crushed by Orton so early in his new RAW stint. That said, Edge has been closing doors for Orton recently, so he needs a little payback. Orton will probably use some of his dirty tricks to eek out a win...but this feud is NOT over.

Winner: Orton

Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk (S.E.S. Pledge vs. Hair Match)

99% of 'Hair v Anything' matches end in a shaved head (at least), but don't be surprised if the WWE pulls a fast one tonight. The 'mystery members' of the SES have been interrupting a lot of matches of late, and the announcers have been playing up how the stable may have to break up if Punk loses this one. I can't imagine that weird shaven-headed girl surviving in the WWE without a group of semi-normal people around her, so Punk should go over and set up a little 'hypnosis' angle with Mysterio for the next few weeks.

Winner: CM Punk

Intercontinental Champion Drew McIntyre vs. Kofi Kingston

McIntyre has been making no friends in the WWE of late, and the Scot badly needs a new angle if he's going to be a long-term fixture in the federation. Rumours said that his 'stripping' of the title was a semi-shoot, and his punishment may continue tonight with a loss against the human highlight-reel Kofi Kingston. Who knows...Matt Hardy might even make an appearance (with a crutch perhaps?)

Winner (and new champion): Kofi Kingston

World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger vs. Big Show

Any match involving Big Show should be short and end with him losing...but I fear this one may be one out of two at best. Swagger is a future star, but as we know every future star has to make Big Show look good for a couple of weeks on their way up...Whatever happens, nobody needs or wants to see Big Show as Heavyweight Champion, so let's hope this one is close....but there's a twist, a slip and a Swagger 1,2,3...

Winner: Jack Swagger

WWE Champion John Cena vs. Batista ("I Quit" Match)

This one is the lock of the night. It's such a lock, it might actually NOT be a lock. Bear with me. There is no chance that Batista is going to make Cena say 'I quit'. His whole persona is built on this 'never say die (or quit)' attitude. He's practically staked his entire career on this one...but is there a screwjob in the works? Something doesn't smell right, and with Sheamus prancing around at ringside (and not working on the card), Cena may end this night with nothing to hold up his baggy pants.

Winner (and new champion): Batista

I hope you've enoyed this Over The Limit preview – this is a strong card, and whatever happens it should be a great PPV – so check in with us for some more analysis next week, and please let us know your predictions for the matches in the comments!
